Tags #ugh this gives me so many feels #because steve had told tony how he'd never sacrifice himself #he'd always find a way out of everything #he'd never do what it takes #and steve thinks he knows tony's type because steve's had to make that hard sacrifice #but then tony goes and surprises him #and steve is surprised because he was stuck in his ways when there was the good guy and the bad guy and that was it #but now he sees that things have changed #and that you can't just peg someone like that #and he feels bad for judging tony #and he sees why tony is as abrasive as he is #because like his armour he's protecting himself with his attitude #but at the same time he's locking himself inside the armour #and blocking everyone out #he wants people to see him as an uncaring person #because he just hates himself that much #and he doesn't realise how much of a hero he is #but steve does realise it
